December 12, 2013 - As this evening draws to a close, Puerto Vallarta’s Festival of Our Lady of Guadalupe wraps up after 12 days of celebration and festivities. Young warriors dance in the streets of Puerto Vallarta commemorating the miraculous appearance of Our Lady of Guadalupe to the Indian peasant Juan Diego on December 12, 1531.
Combining traditional Aztec and Christian motifs, the candlelight processions consisting of banners, dancers, music, singing and colourful floats wind their way through the streets of Puerto Vallarta ending up at Our Lady of Guadalupe Cathedral in El Centro, Puerto Vallarta.
More on the Festival in blog posts to come.
