Out and about in Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai, Thailand - I just love drinking chai and have probably been enjoying a daily cup of this delicious drink for the past 13+ years so when we travel, I do like to check out the local offerings of chai. I always do some research prior to travel to see where I may find a good cup of chai and my research for Thailand led me to find  Le Spice (reviewed in Trip Advisor) in Chiang Mai. No disappointments (but will blog about THE BEST CHAI EVER found in my travels when I blog about our time in Pai - coming up soon).  I know it was mid-afternoon and I’m not sure if Le Spice was actually open when we dropped by but a phone call was made by the host and someone arrived shortly and was happy to brew up a few cups of delicious chai for us.  Relaxed and caught our breath before heading out to discover more of Chiang Mai.

Stopped for a foot massage before heading back to our guest house Top Garden. Dropped by a place along Chang Klan Road (near the night market) so, although it wasn’t quiet and relaxing (cars and motorcycles honking, family/employees talking and eating their dinner about 6 feet away from our recliner-style chairs etc.), the foot massage was exactly what my feet needed at that moment.

A few views of street life walking around in Chiang Mai. (have to admit, I packed my camera away for most of our stay in Chiang Mai - just wanted to relax and enjoy the scenery of the neighbourhoods in and around the old walled city without packing along the camera).

This was a stupa tucked in amongst the buidlings of the neighbourhood we were staying in just blocks east of the old walled city. Found a tiny Buddha (albeit damaged) placed on some of the old bricks at its base.

Did a quick check on Google Maps to check out the neighbourhood and was pleasantly surprised to find the statue sitting on the stupa, just as I had found it. Check it out here.

Hope to return to Chiang Mai some day to spend more time exploring and enjoying the city! I thoroughly enjoyed this city.

About

Welcome to my travel photo blog. Photography has been a part of my life for a long time – back in the day the Pentax Super Program was always near at hand. But it wasn’t until I started travelling around the world that photography became a vehicle for me to show others about the absolutely amazing and complex world we live in. My hope is to share with you glimpses of what I’ve seen. Enjoy!
