High Altitude Shopping!

Peru - Gorgeous views from this roadside market - at the highest point in the road between Cusco and Puno.  Here at La Raya Pass (Abra La Raya), the altitude is 14,232 feet above sea level.

Peru_MG_6949.jpgThis day the wind was blowing hard and the chill in the air bit at my face. I was chilled to the bone.  I felt sorry for the vendors at this market - I couldn’t imagine how cold they must be.  No shelter from the howling winds - how do they do it?

Peru_MG_6942.jpgIncredible scenery - spectacular blend of colours. What an amazing drive!

Day 9 - Friendly Planet - Amazing Peru Tour

Welcome to my travel photo blog. Photography has been a part of my life for a long time – back in the day the Pentax Super Program was always near at hand. But it wasn’t until I started travelling around the world that photography became a vehicle for me to show others about the absolutely amazing and complex world we live in. My hope is to share with you glimpses of what I’ve seen. Enjoy!
