Walking around on Taquile Island was a feast for the eyes!
Adobe houses dot the hillsides of the Island.
A Taquilean girl, with school books in hand, walks along one of the many stone-walled paths that cover the island.
Gorgeous pre-Columbian terraces cover the steep slopes of Taquile Island.I didn’t want the hike along this path to end!Always a surprise around the corner along these paths!
Many gates on the island have these very unique hinges!Time for our lunch break - here. By the sounds of it, all the various restaurants on the island serve the same menu for tourists that visit the island. The lunch meal started with a very tasty, spicy salsa-like salad - tomatoe, onion and cilantro served with bread. Kept wanting more. Followed by an amazing quinoa vegetable soup - one word - DELICIOUS! I was full already when they brought in the entree - fresh-caught trout - grilled and served with rice. The view from the restaurant was an amazing view of Lake Titicaca.
