Peru - Sacred Valley - simply enchanting

The Urubamba Valley is probably better known to most as the Sacred Valley of the Incas - “El Valle Sagrado de los Incas”. Many important ancient Inca ruins including Tipon, Pisac, Moray, Chincheros and Ollantaytambo dot the gentle sloping Andes mountains with tiny villages and farms scattered throughout the valley. This drive will take us closer to Machu Picchu but there are still more towns and Inca ruins to see first.

The Incas revered this valley and it’s easy to understand why - it is absolutely stunning.  Around every bend in the road is another amazing view. Cadmium green valleys hug deep rusty-red sloping mountains. I was simply awed by the beauty. Sorry, running out of adjectives to describe the Valley so have a look for yourself. SacredValley_MG_6146.jpg SacredValley_MG_6143.jpg SacredValley_MG_6144.jpg SacredValley_MG_6161.jpg SacredValley_MG_6141.jpg SacredValley_MG_6274.jpg SacredValley_MG_6275.jpg

Day 5 - Friendly Planet - Amazing Peru Tour

« Previous post Next post »

Welcome to my travel photo blog. Photography has been a part of my life for a long time – back in the day the Pentax Super Program was always near at hand. But it wasn’t until I started travelling around the world that photography became a vehicle for me to show others about the absolutely amazing and complex world we live in. My hope is to share with you glimpses of what I’ve seen. Enjoy!
